Rachel Sims
Sebastian County District Court - Fort Smith Division

Rachel has worked for the Sebastian County District Court – Fort Smith Division for 16 years. She has been the Chief Clerk for 8 years. She serves under two elected officials and has overall supervisory responsibility for 16 employees. She is responsible for the day to day operations for the 4 divisions of district court. During her tenure, she has worked for the late Judge Les Evitts, Judge David Saxon and Judge Ben Beland.

Rachel was nominated for this honor by Judge David Saxon and Judge Ben Beland for her exemplary service to the Fort Smith District Court and to the Arkansas District and City Court Clerk’s Association. Over the past several years, Rachel has put in many hours for the Association by serving on the Executive Board and various committees. She is currently serving as the 2 nd Vice President and on the certification, constitutional by-laws and audit committees. With the help of Laurie Burnett, a member of her staff, she created a web-site to provide helpful information to the members of the Clerk’s Association.

Rachel has been married to Velton for 13 years and they have a 9 year old son. Rachel enjoys making crafts and scrapbooking.
