2011 Clerk of the Year
Fever McElyea
Carlisle District Court

| Fever has been employed
with the Carlisle District Court since 2000. Prior to her employment with
District Court, she worked in an attorney’s office. She received her
certification in 2004 and has earned 6 updates. Fever is responsible for
the day to day operations of the court and supervises one employee. She
currently serves under Judge Joseph V. Svoboda. Fever was nominated for this honor by Judge Svoboda with an additional nomination and support from Carlisle’s Mayor, Ray Glover. They both recognize her consistent efforts toward the improvement of their district court system. Her efforts are evidenced by her participation in the ACAP project from 2001 to 2007, setting her court up to accept on-line payments and serving on the E-filing Task Force. Both the Judge and Mayor commend her for her wonderful attitude and the joy she brings to the workplace. Judge Svoboda stated “I am extremely proud and thankful that she is a major, if not most important, component of the district court system I am associated with in Carlisle.” She has also been an active member of the Clerk’s Association for the past 6 years. She has served on various committees even serving as the committee chair and she has held several different offices on the Association’s Board. She has taught various classes and taken over the responsibility of teaching the new clerk’s orientation at each annual conference. Fever has been married to Cortney for 11 years. They have 3 daughters, Megan 15, Jasmyn 10, and Haven 5, Yummy the family pooch and Tuck the turtle. Fever enjoys coaching pee-wee sports for her kids, fishing and spending time with family and friends. Fever has always wanted to open up a retail store and her dreams are finally coming true. Even though she will continue to serve as the Chief Clerk of the Carlisle District Court, she plans on opening a store August 2011.
Congratulations Fever!!!

A message from Fever: Thank you to my family, friends, and my “Rock Star” staff, Beth and Tori, for always being there for me; to my Judge for all his support and the awesome nomination. I would not have the joy of being as involved with the association without the support of these people. Thank all of you in the association and AOC. I have met so many fabulous people over the years and I must say working with and for you has been an amazing experience and I look forward to the years of service to come. To all you un-conventional professional’s such as my-self, be yourself and be good at it. Again all I can say is a big “Aww-Thanks” to everyone.
With love and kisses,
