They only qualify if they have not participated in the program before, they must have a valid dl and they cannot have any tickets on their driving record within the last three years. Once it has been determined that they qualify for the program, they are required to pay the fine/costs within 30 days, the must take a defensive driving course within 30 days and they can not recieve any citations within the next 90 days or 6 months. The Court will review the status of their ticket at the end of the probationary period to determine if the charge should be dismissed or if the conviction should be reported to Driver Control to be placed on their driving record.
